Yo

Soy una niña de Wisconsin.
I am a girl from Wisconsin.

Yo percibo la guerra en las noticias.
I perceive the war on the news.

Mi país no está en guerra.
My country is not at war.

I can go to a school that is safe.

Estoy afortunada porque puedo jugar.
I am fortunate because I can play.

Voy a la tienda y compro sustento.
I go to the store to buy food.

On my street I see beautiful houses and people who are content.

Tengo muchos recursos
I have a lot of resources.

I would like to help the people in Iraq because I see their shyness and I want to help stop the war.

La niña de Iraq

Soy una niña de Bagdad.
I am a girl from Baghdad.

Yo veo la guerra por me vecinidad.
I see the war in my neighborhood.

Mi país sí está en guerra.
My country is at war.

I can't go to school because there is no safety.

Estoy desafortunada porque no puedo jugar afuera.
I'm not as fortunate because I can't go outside to play.

I can't always leave to shop because I don't feel protected.

I observe houses that are destroyed and the people who have been injured by the war.

I don't have a lot because the war has stopped them.

I would like someone to help me stop the war so we could have peace.
